Ask HBS – Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates with Two Single-Coils

Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates with Two Single-Coils

READER QUESTION:

How would I wire a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickup in the bridge position, with two single-coils in the neck & middle (hss) using a super switch (5-way)? Thanks!

Shane

Follow-up Info From Reader:

I have Seymour Duncan SSL-1’s in the Neck & Middle (RWRP) positions.

I want one master volume (500k) & two tone knobs (a 250k for the singles & a 500k for the humbucker (Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates).

Two 500k & One 250k for pots.

I think that the switch is a ToneShaper narrow Superswitch?

Thanks so much!

Shane

ANSWER:

Hello Shane, thanks for the great question. You have quite a few options open to you when using a super switch to get a wide variety of tones, but this diagram should be close to what you need.

Example 1

As you can see in the diagram, you only need one side of the super switch. Let us know how it works out, or if you have any problems.

Thanks again!
