The Boss CE-5 Stereo Chorus Ensemble is a modernized classic that provides all of the great sound of the CE-2, plus.
The fifth version of a classic product line, the Boss CE-5 Stereo Chorus Ensemble is the first version to go digital. The Boss CE-2 Chorus Ensemble is a classic pedal that has graced hundreds of recordings and can be heard in almost any 80s rock ballad.
The Boss CE-5 is designed to provide all of the great sound of the CE-2, but with some modern modifications. In addition, this updated version has a few more control knobs to tweak for even more tone possibilities. The first control knob is the Effect level, which is your basic “wet/dry” setting. Rate adjusts the speed of the chorus from “hardly there” to “sci-fi.” Depth adjusts how much the signal is modulated, and Filter is an advanced tone control having both Bass and Treble in the same knob. The Boss CE-5 has a mono input but produces stereo out capability (note that it can also be used to split your dry signal). The CE-5 runs on a 9-volt battery or external power supply, and is housed in a rugged blue case.
