Serious vintage-style hot peppers from the Lone-Star state
When I purchased a Fender SRV Strat in 1998, there were two things that made it such an outstanding guitar. First was the neck, it was perfect for my hands. Second, was the set of Fender Texas Special pickups. I could not believe how good these things sounded. They are vintage style, so no hum-cancelling. But, they hold up well with moderate levels of drive. Most importantly, the tone, the tone, the friggin’ tone! Man these things do it all, clean or dirty. I promise you, if you need a vintage single coil pickup, but it has to have both subtlety and balls, use Texas Specials, case closed.
